MINISTER CHARLES KELLY Tupelo - Minister Charles Anton Kelly, 86, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born on October 10, 1926 to John Ezell and Iona Jane Cox Kelly in East Tupelo. He was saved at the age of fourteen and was called to the ministry at the age of eighteen as a Church of God Preacher. He learned to play the guitar at the age of ten and loved to play gospel music. He also enjoyed singing and he and sang in many churches. He served in churches in Mississippi, Arkansas and Florida. He loved his children and grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Eddie Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Manie Carolyn Kelly; children, Tony Kelly (Carolyn), Tina Sheffield, Martha Kochenderfer, John, Charles (Amanda), Curtis, Mike (Dale), Danny (Wendy) and Randy Kelly, Shelia Small (Stan), Mary Hedrick (Jack), Carolyn Childers (Roger), Eva Pickett, Debbie Kelly and Carla Marchbanks; step-children, Lawrence Kingsley (Melissa), Angel Nanney (Bobby) and Melissa Sheffield (Michael); many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Zelma Kelly and Cora Dill; one granddaughter, Teresa Kochenderfer and his parents. Pallbearers will be Bradley and Josh Mulligan, Joseph Lyles, J.C. Kingsley, Stacey Kochenderfer and Brandon Aday. Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
