MILTON JONES Nettleton - Milton Scott Jones, 57, passed away, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Milton loved his soul-mate wife dearly. He was an awesome husband and father and was a devoted family man. He doted on his grandson Reese whom he loved with all his heart and soul. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Milton was born in Amory on June 26, 1956, to Marcus and Omeria Nabors Jones. He graduated from Amory High School and was acknowledged as a mathematical whiz. He later went on to attend Mississippi State University and never lost his love of the school and became a die-hard Mississippi State Bulldog football fan. He was retired from Tecumseh Products after twenty-three years of service. Milton loved traveling, camping, boating, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a master griller. He was a people person who loved his friends. Known for his dry sense of humor, he especially derived great joy in aggravating his sisters. Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Donna Jo Johnson Jones of Nettleton; one daughter, Emily Whitaker (Jason) of Nettleton; two sisters, Melissa Rutledge (Tim) of Madison and their two children, Jonathan of Memphis, Tennessee and Laura of Madison, Marsha Jones (Lew Weiss) of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Mark Jones of Vicksburg and his four children, Drew, Shane, Seth of Lousiana and Lendsi of Vicksburg; one grandchild, Reese Whitaker, two step grandchildren, Morgan and Molly Whitaker; sister-in-law, Rhonda Lambert (Larry) and family of Birmingham, Alabama; his beloved dog, Max of the home and numerous other family members. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Bigbee Baptist Church with Rev. Mac Phillips and Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is entrusted with arrangements. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Jones; his mother, Omeria Jones; his father-in-law, Blois Johnson and mother-in-law, Mary Johnson. Visitation will be 12-3 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Bigbee Baptist Church.
