MILDRED V. SWANN Verona - Mildred V. Swann, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born on December 29, 1929 in Pontotoc County to Ervin Madison and Lottie Dee Johnson McCaine. She worked for 38 years at Purnell's Pride which later became Marshall-Durbin. She enjoyed cooking and flower gardening around her home. She was known for her good habit of reading her Bible each night before retiring. Mildred was a very active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Verona and in her Sunday School class. Her husband of 48 years, Audry Lee Swann, preceded her in death in September of 1997. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Verona. Graveside service will follow in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Diane McMickin (Randy) of Tupelo and Debra Burnside (Steve) of Tupelo; four brothers, James McCaine (Jane) of Tupelo, Billy McCaine of Memphis, Tennessee, Junior McCaine of Pontotoc and Carl McCaine (Clemmie) of San Antonio Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Swann of Jackson, Tennessee, Ashley Batchelor (Keith) of Lakeland, Tennessee, Stephanie Dunaway (Anthony) of Saltillo, Brooke Magers of Guntown and three great-grandchildren, Anna Lauren Dunaway, Bailey Batchelor and Marlee Magers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audry Lee Swann; one son, Jerry Swann in November of 2003; two brothers, Geraldean McCaine and Tommy McCaine. Pallbearers will be Keith Batchelor, Anthony Dunaway, Daryl McCaine, Terry McCaine, Randy Hardwick and Gary Higgins. Members of her Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
