MILDRED LEE
Tupelo - Mildred McWherter Lee, 101, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at The Green Houses At Traceway. A native of Martin, Tenn., she was born August 21, 1905 to the late George and Nancy McLain McWherter. She lived for many years in Clarksdale where she was a member of First Presbyterain Church and served as a Bible teacher. She was also a member of the Opera Study Club. After moving to Tupelo she was a member of the Saturday Reading Club and served in the Hospice Ministry of the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Private graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale with Rev. Bill Gleason officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Caldwell and husband, Norris of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Lee Caldwell and wife, Ellen, Pat Caldwell and wife, Jennifer and Britt Caldwell and wife, Angie, all of Tupelo; five great-grandchildren, Jeffery Caldwell, Kevin Caldwell, Amy Caldwell Murphree (Jim), John Michael Caldwell and Anders Caldwell; and one great-great-granddaughter, Emma Murphree; one special niece, Suan Hunt of Griffin, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Brittain Lee and seven brothers and sisters..
Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
