MILDRED E. LANGSTON

Milton, Fla - Mildred E. Langston, 97, longtime Lee County resident, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at the Santa Rosa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milton Florida. A Lee County native, she was born September 16, 1908 to the late William E. and Jeffie Billingsley Easterling. She worked as a sewing machine operator in area garment manufacturers and later in alterations with McRaes Department Store. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Florida. She enjoyed gardening and being involved in various church activities. Her husband, John Merle Langston, preceded her in death in 1989.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mike Price officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include one son, William Lynn Langston of Milton, Florida; six grandchildren, William Bigby of Florida, Michael Bigby of Georgia, Teresa Fry of Georgia, Lisa Bunker of Texas, Patricia Hughes of Tupelo, and Dawn Harrigill of Florida; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Coley, and Marcus Easterling, and a sister, Mary Frances Gurley.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Gurley, Billy Easterling, Gary Easterling, Eddie Hughes, Paul Harrigill, and Doug Dickey, Jr.

One honorary pallbearer will be Richard Bunker.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
