Tupelo - MILDRED LORAINE FIDLER, 79, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Mobile, Ala. native, she was born March 13, 1928 to the late Rev. Samuel David and Myrtle Lee Williams Armour. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned a degree in business. She spent most of her adult life working in insurance management and later taught buiness at Navajo College in Arizona. She also lived in Georgia and Germany. She and her husband, Ronald, had lived the past two years in Tupelo at Traceway Retirement Village. She was a Methodist.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Mobile. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Ronald Fidler of Tupelo; five children, Alan W. Wallace,of Houston, Tex., Arthur L. Wallace, of Montgomery Ala., Grace L. Edmisten, Sylvia F. Jensen, and Patricia Walters, all of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Reese Armour of Mobile, Ala, and Samuel Armour of Fremont, Calif.; one sister, Susan Williams of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchilren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Kempner and Clara Wood.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Tupelo; 5 to 8 p.m Friday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home; and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home in Mobile.
