MILDRED CALMES Saltillo - Mildred Ruth Calmes, 76, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at her home. She was born November 24, 1938 in Union County to Willie Dove and Orelia Lessel Pannell. She attended Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating and her nephews will serve as pallbearers. A graveside will follow. Survivors include her husband, Marion Calmes of almost 60 years, three children, Freddy Calmes (Melinda) of Tupelo, Cathy Haygood (Neal) of Saltillo and Donna Palmer (Rodney) of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Mikki White (Ryan), Zack Haygood, Morgan Palmer and Jamie Palmer; sister, Linda Holmes (James); brothers, David Pannell (Betty), Johnny Pannell (Brenda), Jimmy Pannell (Vicki) and expecting one great-grandchild in June. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Lonnie Pannell and her parents. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
