MILDRED ADAMS

Tupelo - MILDRED BALLARD ADAMS, 96, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Green Houses At Traceway after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born June 25, 1910, to the late James M. and Edie Melinda Garner Ballard. She worked at Reed Mfg. and Lucky Star but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was an active member of First United Methodist of Belmont until 1999 when her health declined. Previously she had been active at Mooreville United Methodist Church until moving to Belmont in 1991.

Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Ron Deaton and Rev. Greg Forbus officiating. Burial will be in Mooreville Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Charles B. Adams and wife, Beckie, of Belmont; four grandchildren, Chuck Adams and wife, Cathy, of Senatobia, Kevin Adams and wife, Michelle, of Florence, Ala., Anson Adams and wife, Rayanne, of Belmont, Allyson Russell and husband, Chris, of Red Bay, Ala.; nine great-grandchildren, Erica Adams, Elizabeth and Rachel Adams, Anna Butler, Merilese and Katherine Adams, Elizabeth, William, and Rian Russell; one niece, Jane Soffos of Memphis, Tenn.; one nephew, Jimmy Ballard of LaGrange, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Anson C. (Harvey) Adams; her parents, her brother, Elmo Ballard.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Adams, Kevin Adams, Anson Adams, Chris Russell, William Russell, and Jimmy Ballard

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Martin House Staff, Nurses, and Shahbazim.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
