Midge Earnest
Tupelo- Margaret “Midge” Bradley Earnest, 78, passed from this world peacefully Thursday afternoon, March 16, 2023. She was surrounded by her beloved husband and two precious daughters who knew when she drew her last breath; she met her Savior face to face. They have no doubt Midge ran, not walked, to kneel at the feet of Jesus.
Midge was born June 9, 1944; she was the daughter of the late V. N. and Elvis Bradley of Tupelo. She was also preceded in death by her two older brothers, William Douglas Bradley of the Mooreville/Richmond area and Milton Lewis Bradley and his wife, Sandra Rea Bradley of Oxford, and one younger sister, Mary Ann Lann, and her husband, Michael Lann of Dorsey.
Midge graduated from Tupelo High School in 1962 and earned an Associate's Degree at Itawamba Junior College. She was employed by Southern/South Central Bell Company, Reed’s Department Store, and J. J. Rogers and Sons working in data entry and clerical positions prior to retirement.
Midge married the love of her life, Bobby, and they built a wonderful and loving home with their two daughters. Midge and Bobby were married 56 ½ years. They enjoyed many things together, but most of all were their traveling adventures where they explored as much of God’s beautiful creation as possible.
Midge was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church for 52 years and for many of those years, she was active in service. She was a Nursery coordinator, sang in the church choir, and visited many of the churches homebound until she was no longer able to drive.
The Home Going Celebration of Life Service for Midge Earnest will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the West Jackson Street Baptist Church, 1349 West Jackson Street, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38801. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until service time that day. There will be a private burial for immediate family members at a later date.
Surviving relatives include husband, Robert “Bob” Earnest of 56 ½ years of Tupelo; two daughters, Laynne Martin (Lynn) of Tupelo, and Leigh Dozier (Andy) of Plantersville; grandchildren, Lanna Grace, Jacob, Jason Dozier, and Reed and Madison Martin; two brothers, Vernon Merle Bradley (Ashley) of Calhoun, Louisiana, and David Lynn Bradley (Karen) of Shannon; one sister-in-law, Nancy Bradley of Mooreville/Richmond community; nieces and nephews, Butch (Bettye) Bradley, Kelley (Roger) Lawson, Pollyanna Brown, and Ken Bradley; special nieces and nephews, Tracie Bradley Russell, Leslie Bradley Brooks (Scott), Scott Bradley (Carole), Alan McCormick (Missy); and many cousins; and great-nieces and -nephews who were very dear to her heart.
