MIKE SPEES
Blairsville, GA - Michael Wayne Spees, 59, formerly of Tupelo, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Blairsville, GA. He was born June 9, 1947 to the late Trevlyn R. Spees and Nellie Eubanks Brown. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, Dacula, GA. He retired after 34 years with UniLever. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, making hiking sticks and making people laugh. He was one of a kind.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander and Rev. Paul Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Lee Spees of Blairsville, GA; one daughter, Cathy Oglesby and husband, Mike, of Mobile, AL; one son, Shane Spees and wife, Parker, of Harlingen, TX; one sister, Pat Dillard of Tupelo; one brother, Jim Brown of Amory; three granddaughter, Courtney Peak and husband, Andrew, of Mobile, AL, Kayla Oglesby of Mobile, AL and Addy-Parker Spees of Harlingen, TX.
His friends, Dan Autry, Jimmy Burleson, Julian Cook, Bob Hanson, John McAdams, George Mason, Buddy Palmer and Scott Sharpless will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
