MELVIN LEE

Dorsey - Melvin James Lee, 70, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Ridgley, Tennessee on October 7, 1943, to Robert and Myrtle Forrest Lee. He retired from Patterson Engineering/Springlake in Tupelo after many years of service. A veteran, he served in the United States Navy on the ships U. S. S. Enterprise and U. S. S. Ranger during the Vietnam Conflict. Hunting and fishing were his two most favorite and enjoyable hobbies aside from taking care of his wife and family. He was of the Baptist faith.

A celebration of his life with military honors will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mike Todd and Rev. Brian Burge officiating. A graveside service will follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of forty years, Mary Hunt Lee of Dorsey; two daughters, Tina Martin Lee of Nettleton and Melissa Hornback of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, James Richard Lee of Konawa, Oklahoma and Randy Pruitt of Lancaster, Texas; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mable Faulk of Greenfield, Tennessee and Bonnie French Lee of Fulton, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Lasondra Lee and Latonya Lynn Lee; two grandsons, Jeffrey Martin and Gage Hornback; one brother, Malcom Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jason and T.J. Martin, Jim, Casey and Joe Cayson and Scott Harris.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the funeral home.
