Belden - Maye Maye Harlow, 81, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident of Belden, she was born May 22, 1929, to Samuel Lester and Viola Ray Blythe. She graduated from Belden High School and married Kenneth Harlow. She worked in sales for WELO and Miss 98 Radio for 40 years. She was a faithful member of Belden Baptist Church and the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She loved her family and the time she spent with her grandkids.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Don Baggett officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Harlow and Julie Carruth (Tommy), all of Belden; one brother, Ray Blythe (Martha) of Verona; two grandchildren, Carley and Mitch Carruth; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Herring and Laura Blythe, both of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Harlow who died in 1986; a brother, Rex Blythe and a half- sister, Nell White.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Herring, Sam Blythe, Barry Bratton, Joe Scott, Chris Ingellis, Mark Jarrett, Jerry Page, and Terry Wood
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sunshine Sunday School Class; Mitch Carruth and Shane Ingellis.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
