Maxine Miller Harris

November 29, 1924 — July 25, 2010

Tupelo - Maxine Miller Harris, 85, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Prentiss County native, she was born November 29, 1924 to Earl and Lorena Ryan Ray. She worked many years as a fashion coordinator in ladies apparel for several Tupelo stores. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed collecting antiques and was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught a ladies Sunday School class.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss County Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Robert Harris of Tupelo; two sons, Charles R. Miller (Pat) of Tupelo and Mike Miller (Donna) of Maumelle, Ark.; four grandchildren, Mary Pat Palmer, Jenny Filgo, Charlie Miller, Jr. (Mande), all of Tupelo, Michael Miller Jr (Paula) of Kingwood, Tex.; five great-grandchildren, Hayden Palmer, Weston Filgo, Charlie Miller III, Olivia Jane Miller, and Alexandria Iris Miller; one sister-in-law, Pattie Sue Pettigrew; and her caregiver, Helen Banks of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Charlie G. Miller; her brother, Eugene Ray.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Miller, Jr., Michael Miller Jr., Charlie Miller, III, Hayden Palmer, Weston Filgo, Ronnie Parker, and Austin Marshall.

Visitation will be Noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
