Maxine Irene Gregory, 93, went to be with her Savior Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Maxine was born December 8, 1929 in Fulton to Allen Johnson and Densy Ledbetter Johnson.
Maxine possessed a remarkable talent for knitting, crocheting, and crafting. Maxine’s professional journey led her to Blue Bell, where she worked for 25 years. Outside of her professional life, Maxine was a faithful member of Auburn Baptist Church, where she found great solace and community within the church. Above all, Maxine was a dedicated mother to her two sons, and her unwavering love for them knew no bounds.
Maxine leaves behind her niece and caregiver, Nancy Tucker of Pontotoc; two other nieces; one nephew, Obie Newcomb of Fulton; two great-nieces, Laken Tucker and Sara Tucker; and three great-nephews, Nick Tucker, Jordan Tucker, Alex Tucker, and Jon Tucker; and a host of other great-nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doris Gregory; 14 siblings; and two sons, William and David Gregory.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services honoring her life will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at Keyes Cemetery with Rev. Bob O’Neal officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Nick Tucker, Chance Tucker, Damian Tucker, and Alex Tucker.
