MAXINE E. COX
Tupelo - Maxine Evelyn Cox, 90, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. A native of Havana, Ill., she was born September 26, 1916 to the late Melvin and Clara Quigley Wilson. During her working years, she was associated with the Mother's Day Out programs for several area churches. She enjoyed her church, Calvary Baptist, reading and working crossword puzzles. She loved her family and spending time with her grandson and great-granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Bryant Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Donald Robert Cox and wife, Diane of Tupelo; a grandson, Donald Robert "Rob" Cox, Jr. and wife, Kerri, of Madison; a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Cox; one sister and four brothers
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
