MAUDE CYPHERS POIRIER
Salisbury, MD - MAUDE CYPHERS POIRIER, 98, died Monday, August 13, 2007, at Salisbury Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. A native of Virginia, she was born December 11, 1908. She lived for several years in Nettleton. She worked as a well driller in Virginia and also lived for several years in Baltimore, MD where she retired as owner and manager of the Congress Hotel. While living in Maryland, she was very active, putting on plays for the assisted living center. She enjoyed flowers. She was a member the Laurel Baptist Church in Laurel, Del.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dale Carr officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Manning of Salisbury,MD Patricia Beckner of Pass Christian, Mora Lynn Lecorchick of Inverness, Fla., Sandy O'Neill of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Linda Jeffers of Salt Lake City, Utah; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bobby Banks.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
