Tupelo - Mary Christine Vance Wright, 81, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Avonlea Assisted Living after an extended illness. A native of Chickasaw County, she was born October 28, 1928, to Frank B. and Elizabeth Walls Vance. She worked as the office manager and optometry assistant for Dr. W.M. "Dub" Dickerson and Dr. Bill Dickerson for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchilden and enjoyed her dog, Fluffy. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Steve Hurt officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, James "Vance" Wright (Linda) of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and Bill Wright(Sue) of Mooreville; two sisters, Grace McClain of Thorne and Joyce Hooper of Eupora; two brothers, Rubel Vance of Elzy and R.E. Vance of Houston; four granchildren, Ian Wright, Todd Wright, Jason Wright, and Candi Quartaro (Brent); and six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wright, Ashley Marsh, Bailee Marsh, Zoe Wright, Chandler Quartaro, and Will Quartaro.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Tami Wright; three sisters, Sybil, Hazel, and Earline; and one brother, Loren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Knight, Brent Quartaro, Charlie Barber, Dr. Bill Dickerson, Don Hooper and Jerry McClain.
Visitation will continue Thursday until service time.
