Mary Lee White

July 24, 1935 — March 15, 2010

Mooreville - Mary Lee White, 74, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. She was born in Amory July 24, 1935, to Bondie Holland and Effie Lavern Montgomery Green. She attended Mooreville High School. She worked for many years at F.W. Woolworth until the store closed and continued working through the same company at Woolco. She later worked for American Greeting Company as a merchandiser until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy She loved working in her yard with her beautiful roses and flowers. She was known for her giving nature and beautiful smile.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Wayne Thorn, Rev. Tim Winters, Rev. Curtis Sutton and Rev. Ryan Napalo officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Heburn White; two daughters, Glinda Vance (David) of Mooreville, and Chrystal Dawn Ihle (Shane) of Saltillo; two grandchildren, Mary Davis (Billy) of Houston, and Jacob Vance of Mooreville; one great grandson, Tyler Davis; two sisters, Sarah Harris (Robbie), and Carolyn Sue Stegall (Dexter) of Eggville; three brothers, James Green, Carlton Green (Mary), and Paul Green (Charlotte) of Eggville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by by her parents; her father-in-law, Vonnie White; mother-in-law, Arnie Vee White.

Pallbearers will be Terry Green, Jason Green, Josh Green, Eddie Harris, Rob Abel, Jimmy Jackson, Perry Stegall and Kenneth White.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and will continue Thursday, 11 a.m. until service time.
