Tupelo--Mary Sue Floyd Michael,72, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born April 27, 1950, in Booneville. She is the daughter of Guy W. Harper and Mattie Lou Coleman Harper. Mary Sue was married to Charles F. Michael until the time of his passing. Mary Sue turned her love of doing hair and makeup into a career in cosmetology. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Mary Sue loved music and people, especially her family.
Mary Sue is survived by her two children, Cindy Raines (Tommy) of Saltillo, and Jerry Whitehead (Diane) of Baldwyn; six grandchildren, Brandy Miller (Kevin) of Saltillo, Tori Raines of Saltillo, Kesha Oatsvall (Paul) of Fulton, Meghan Heatherly of Baldwyn, Kelsey Whitehead of Baldwyn, and Miranda Whitehead (Nathan) of Baldwyn; ten great-grandchildren, Maddie, Emma, Jess, Braxton, Ava, Jenna, Konner, Isabella, Hadley, and Gatlin; one brother, Wayne Harper (Jan) of Tishomingo; and four nieces, Michaela, Angie, Kim, and Jamie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy Harper and Mattie Lou Coleman Harper; her husband, Charles Michael; one sister, Teresa Marshall; and one great-grandson, Lester Paul Oatsvall, III.
Visitation will be 2p.m. until service time Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring Mary Sue’s life will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Bro. Sammie Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Booneville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Miller, Jess Whitehead, Caleb Cody, Jonathan Raines, Colby Scott, and Nathan King.
The family expresses special appreciation to her caregivers, Mandy, Myeshia, Misha, J. J., Sam, Brittany, Jessica, and Carley. A special heartfelt thanks is extended to Michelle Haynes and the staff at Sanctuary Hospice House for their love and care. Our Mother/Mimi is healed and with Jesus, and we are so happy for her. Her heart is no longer broken.
