MARY ALICE STANLEY

Saltillo - Mary Alice Stanley, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice. Mary Alice was born December 13, 1928, to Paul Clayton and Myrtle Corrine Dugard Lanphere. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo. Mary Alice had worked as a seamstress for Playcraft and as a cook for many local restuarants. Well-known for her cooking, she worked at places such as Mrs. Delby?s and Barbara?s Restaurant in Saltillo. She also was blessed to work with Bud and Charlene Fletcher as a nanney for their children, Chad and Misty. She found great comfort and joy in caring for them, her family, friends and others.

A celebration of her life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Ken Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Beech Springs Cemetery.

Mary Alice?s survivors include her daughters, Katherine Nichols (Tim) of Mantachie and Diane Patterson of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Kim Smith (Mark) of Saltillo, Leslie Pitts (Wes) of Mantachie and Nina Barnes (Brad) of Saltillo; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ben and Abbie Katherine Smith, Ella, Darby and Georgia Pitts, Neil May (Stephanie) and Molly Bass; three great-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis and Miles; her brother, Doug Lanphere (Lela) of Saltillo; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Stanley; her parents; her sister, Sara Barnes Chase; brothers, Pud, Paul, Jake and Russ Lanphere.

Pallbearers will be Lindsey, Paul Wren and Rusty Lanphere, Perry Stanley, Jerry Burns and James Barnes.
