Tupelo - Mary J. Solomon, 72, died Monday, February 15, 2010, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. A native of Genoa, Ohio, she was born March 16, 1937. She had lived the past ten years in Tupelo. While living in Debary, Fla., she was a member of the VFW and the Eagles. Her family remembers her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a wonderful entertainer. She was the widow of Jack A. Solomon who preceded her in death in 1974.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl McKiernan of Belden; her son, Michael A. Solomon (Valerie) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Brian Corbitt (Christy) of Fort Drum, NY, Terry Lorenzen (Veronica) of Ft. Hood, Tex., and Brandon Solomon of Tupelo; four great-grandchildren, Jazmine Corbitt, Dominic Corbitt, Alexia Lorenzen, and Tristen, Guiterez.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, James Solomon.
