MARYJO PRIDDY PANNELL Tupelo - MaryJo Priddy Pannell, 76, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended battle with cancer. A Tupelo native, she was born September 28, 1937, to John K. and Myrtle Allen Priddy, who preceded her in death. She retired from Woolworths before feeding most of Tupelo as a deli and restaurant manager at several locations around the Tupelo area. She also fed numerous teenagers of Tupelo in the late 70's and early 80's while they hung out at her home with her two sons. She enjoyed reading and music, but most importantly doing for others. Her most precious possessions were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Burial will be at Andrews Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne "Cootie" Pannell; her parents; brothers, John Allen Priddy, James Franklin Priddy and Buster Priddy; sisters, Florine Martin and Geraldine Carr. Survivors include her sons, Randy Pannell (Angela) of Starkville and Greg Pannell of Tupelo; her grandchildren, Quint of Starkville and Staycie, William John and Maggie Pannell all of Tupelo. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jace and Jaylee Pannell; three sisters, Pauline Norton (Charles) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Linda Elaine West of Verona, Martha Sanders of Hernando and two sister-in-law, Diann Priddy and Sylvia Priddy both of Tupelo as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Priddy, Jim Priddy, Steve West, Tim Webb, Kerry Cermack and David Howard. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Sanctuary Hospice, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo MS 38803. The family would also like to express their thanks to the wonderful, caring staff of Sanctuary Hospice.
