COLUMBUS ? Mary Kathryn Perry passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie. Born March 13, 1926, she was the daughter of Will Lee Jones and Gracie Mae Hadley Jones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always had a smile for everyone. She loved growing a garden and cooking for her family. She was a longtime member of Freewill Baptist Church in Columbus. She worked many years at McClellan?s Department Store in Columbus. She retired from Ruth?s/Jean Ann?s, and finally retired from the Fashion Barn in 2002 at the age of 76.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann McBride Box (Jack) of Tupelo; daughter-in-law, Rita McBride of Columbus; grandsons, Tony J. Box (Sandy) of Tupelo, Rodney Box (Melissa) of Pratts, Wayne McBride (Betsy) of Columbus, Michael McBride (Theresa) of Columbus, Richard McBride (Valerie) of Caledonia; granddaughters, Catharine Jackson (Bubba) of Mobile, Ala., and Amanda McBride Hayes (Shad) of New Hope; great-grandchildren, Mallory Box, Trey McBride, Bethany McBride, John McBride, Leah Boiardi, Hunter McBride, Jason Hayes, and Elizabeth and Brittany Jackson; special loved ones, Ed and Claudia Neely of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Shannon McBride and John Rufus Perry; her sister, Annie Irene Mims; her brothers, Will Lee Jones Jr. and Joe Jones; and her son, Larry Wayne McBride.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Tim McMillen officiating. A graveside service for the family will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tony Box, Rodney Box, Wayne McBride, Michael McBride, Richard McBride, John McBride, Trey McBride and Hunter McBride.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home.
