Oak Hill CommunityMary I. Moore, 93, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006 after a long illness. Born December 10, 1912, she was a Pontotoc native and the daughter of the late Jeptha and Alice Montgomery Baker. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church where she served as the first president of the UMW. She loved animals, enjoyed working in her flowers, quilting, ceramics, and was well known for her homemade doughnuts.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Wiygul and Rev. Donnie Riley. Burial will be the Oak Hill Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Bass and husband, Wayne, Sarah Lindley and husband, Ron, all of Saltillo; four sons, Shelby Moore and wife, Joann, of Saltillo, Bobby Moore and wife Karen, of Dothan, AL, Ronnie Moore and friend, Becky, of Mayflower, AR, and Terry Moore of Saltillo; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years, Homer C. Moore; three sons, J.C., Hoyte, and, Roy Douglass Moore; three grandchildren, Mary Lou, Billy, and Becky; one sister, Ollie McCoy; one brother, Austin Baker; one sister-in-law, Eppie Baker; one niece, and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Moore, Curtis Bass, Brad Bass, Jeremny Bass, Brent Otts, and Duane Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Moore, Merle Baker, Charles Baker, Carl McKissick; Jody Robinson, Joel Baker, and Charles Betts.

Memorials may be made to the Oak Hill Methodist Church UMW.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home and from noon until service time at the church.
