MARY NELL MILLWOOD Tupelo - Mary Nell Millwood, 85, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Rosewood Residence Personal Care Home. She was born in Saltillo on July 15, 1929, to Willie Oscar and Erma Langston Smith. On December 3, 1952, Mary Nell married Tommy Edgar Millwood and began building a lifetime of memories. After 47 years of service, she retired from Central Service Association. She loved to travel, read books pertaining to travel, and was a talented seamstress. Mary Nell loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spendng time with them. She was a member of East Main Church of Christ where she was a faithful member. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Gary Williams officiating. A graveside service will follow in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Julie Long of Contoocook, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Cody Long of Henniker, New Hampshire and Cole Long of Contoocook, New Hampshire; her brothers and sisters, Bob Smith (Jean) of Mooreville, Sarah Smith of Tupelo, Barbara Cowan (Harry) of Baldwyn, Nancy McGee (Gene) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and "Joe" Dan Smith (Kay) of Saltillo; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Millwood-Wright; one niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tommy Edgar Millwood. Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of East Main Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Jeff McGee, Joe Smith, Terry McGee, Mark Cowan and Len Schaefer. Memorials may be made to Rosewood Residence Personal Care, 2441 McCullough Ave., Belden, MS 38826 or Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks, 107 Skeet Dr, Verona, MS 38879 Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo and continued 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday.
