Mary H. McNeil
Tupelo - Mary Houston McNeil, 90, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Valley View Heath and Rehabilitation in Madison, Alabama. She was born August 30, 1927, in Carthage to Andrew Jackson Houston and Aileen Houston Gross. On April 9, 1948, she married Ed McNeil. She retired from the Tupelo Public School System as a secretary/bookkeeper for Tupelo High School. She delivered Meals on Wheels and worked the Bell South Cookbook booth at the Tupelo Flea Market. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl McNeil Moore of Jackson; one son, Hugh McNeil and his wife Germaine Filgo McNeil of Madison, Alabama; one brother, Samuel Houston of Carthage; one sister, Tommie H. Lea of Carthage; four grandchildren, Casey Moore and his wife Courtney Allen Moore of Brandon, Jason McNeil of Ocean Springs, Brian McNeil and his wife Noelle Paulk McNeil of Pike Road, Alabama, and Allison McNeil Bryars and her husband John Bryars of Elmore, Alabama; and four great-grandchildren, Hayes McNeil Moore, John Lucian McNeil, Evan Edward McNeil and Madeline Eve McNeil.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James Houston and Jack Houston; and one sister, Elizabeth Cochran.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Friday July 20, 2018, at W. E. Pegues Tupelo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Rob Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Casey Moore, Jason McNeil, Brian McNeil, John Bryars, Mike Maynard and Sam Kilpatrick.
