Mary Leech
TUPELO - Mary Benson Leech, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at The Green Houses at Traceway Retirement Center after a lengthy illness. She was born April 30, 1922, in the Brewer community to Jim Tom Benson and Quey Schumpert Benson. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Tupelo. She loved her family, doing her yardwork and cooking and caring for her family. She was the widow of Jessie C. Leech.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Don Wildman and the Rev. Charles Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Brewer Cemetery.
Survivors include one son-in-law, Charles Caldwell Sr. of Amory; one brother, Jim Benson and Jo of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Diana Leigh Noe and Scott, Kimberly Frances Farrar and Michael, and Charles A. Caldwell Jr. and Tiffany; and six great-grandchildren, Leigh Ellen, Eliza, Amy Frances, Matthew, Audrey and Lacey.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Caldwell; one brother, Ned Benson and his wife, Clytee; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
