Mary Kirkpatrick

Tupelo, Miss. - Mary Grimes Kirkpatrick, 89, died Friday March 11, 2011, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Miss. after an extended illness. A Tula, Mississippi native, she was born March 14, 1921 to Samuel Earl and Sara Moss Grisham Grimes. She was raised in Sanatorium near Magee, Miss. and had attended the University of Mississippi. She had lived 53 years in Tyler and Hideaway, Texas. She was an avid golfer and was a devoted mother and wife. While living in Texas, she was an active member of Hideaway Lake Community Church.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. Dale Carr officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay Riddell of Tupelo; one son, Bill Kirkpatrick of Tupelo; one granddaughter, Courtney Gresham (Allen) of Starkville; one niece, Lynda Ferris of Oxford; one nephew, Jimmy Grimes of Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Jack P. Kirkpatrick who preceded her in death in October of 1988.
