Tupelo - Mary Lou James, 75, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born May 4, 1933 to Roy and Jeston Murphy Badgett in Walkertown, North Carolina. She married Ed James on March 15, 1952. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She was a member of the Good Sam Club and an International Good Sam Sambassador. She loved traveling extensively with her husband in the United States and abroad. She enjoyed sewing, painting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ed James, of Tupelo: two daughters, Debbie Hutchins and husband, Terry, of Grenada and Alice Lott of Madison; one son, Eddie James and wife, Shannon, of Madison; nine grandchildren, Sara Claire Hutchins, Drew Hutchins, Rebecca Lott, Rachel Lott, Jessica Lott, Jennifer Lott, Reed James, Zach James and Lauren James; three brothers, Don Badgett and wife, Leigh, of Denver, Colorado, Larry Badgett and wife, Carolyn, and Toby Badgett and wife, Carol, of Kernersville, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Badgett of Kernersville and Dorothy Badgett of Charleston, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judy Moore, and three brothers, Dickey, Carol and Harold Badgett.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Fulgham, Cecil Weeks, Derwood Tutor, Tommy Cobb, Tom Higginbotham, Sammy Simpson, John Smith and Marvin Harwood

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Derwood Tutors Sunday School Class and the Tombigbee Indians Good Sam Camping Chapter.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at the church and will continue Saturday at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
