Mary Alene Hill

Birmingham Ridge Community - Mary “Alene” Hill, 79, of the Birmingham Ridge Community, passed peacefully from her earthly home to her heavenly home Saturday, February 10, 2018, at her residence. She was born January 28, 1939, to Lester and Wilma Johnson. Her husband, Wayne, was the love of her life whom she had been married to for 61 years on February 16. Family was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family whenever she could. Her favorite family time was Christmas. She lavished each family and non family member with a bountiful supply of gifts. Alene was the glue that kept her family together. She exuded kindness to everyone and always had a smile on her face. She was immensely loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her 3 children, Rhonda Hill and her husband, Keith, Cheryl Stein and her husband, Eric, and Richard Hill and his wife, Sherry, all of Saltillo; her grand children, Kevin and Amanda Edwards, Brandon and Traci Stein, Jordan and Jacob Stein, Zack Hill, Adam and Carmen Hill, Chase and Abby Hill, and Ashley and Courtney Gray; great-grandchildren, Georgia Edwards, Summer Edwards, Justin Edwards, Cailin Stein, Luke Stein, Hunter Hill, Preslee Hill, Kennedy Tedford, Benton Hill, Swayze Hill, and Riley Cate Hill; her sister and best friend, Sue Gunter and brother-law- Billy Dobbs; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two of her grandsons, Chris Edwards and Matthew Hill; her brother-in-law, Bud Gunter; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roscoe and Rebecca Hill; and her sister-in-law, Lynette Dobbs.
Visitation will be 6 until 8:30 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Saltillo.
A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Keith Phillips officiating. Burial will be in McNeil Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Edwards, Brandon Stein, Jordan Stein, Jacob Stein, Zack Hill, Adam Hill, Chase Hill.
