TUPELO " Mary Nell Goines, 81, died Saturday, July 7, 2007m, at the Golden Living Center in Tupelo after a short illness. She was born April 27, 1926, in Tupelo to the late Harvey D. McCarty and Cleo Franklin McCarty. She was retired as a seamstress from the furniture industry after 50 years of service. She had lived in Tupelo all her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved sewing and her family time. She was the widow of Jimmy Goines, Billy Hill and Lloyd C. Scott Sr.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Thomas Warren officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Evelyn Williams of Dumas, Ark.; one son, the Rev. Steven W. Scott of Tupelo; seven grandchildren, Deborah A. Davis and Danny of Chiderster, Ark., Bobbie J. Neal and Albert of Tupelo, Lisa Ann Glover and Joseph Lloyd Scott of Racine, Wisc., and Jody Lynn Hawkins and Daryl, Brad Scott and Tony Scott, all of Everett, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; one son, Lloyd D. Scott Jr.; and two sisters, Ruby Coggins and Sarah McCaskil.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
