Tupelo - Mary Ann Eason, 81, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. She was born in Martin, Tennessee on June 28, 1928 to M.H. and Earlene Cantrel Smith. She married James Paul Eason October 8, 1950 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the garden club and bridge club, enjoyed making ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bruceton Funeral Home in Bruceton, Tenn. with Rev. James S. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in Bruceton.
Survivors include her daughter, Polly Callis (Lynn) of Jackson, Tenn.; her son, Joseph Eason (Jan) of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Maggie McCalmon and Sarah Grace Callis, both of Jackson, Tenn.; her sister, Nancy Lynch of Camden, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul Eason; a son, Jim Eason, a daughter, Rozanne Eason; a grandson, Thomas Andrew McCalmon; and a brother, Horrace Smith.
Pallbearers will be Shane Lynch, Dennis Eason, Hal Eason, Keith Eason, Bobby Stanfill, Dennis Street, Lee Smith, and Brent Wiles.
