Belden - Mary Jane Maxcy Davis, 88, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Belden native and longtime resident, she was born March 29, 1921 to James Gernade and Sarah Clyde Baldwyn Maxcy. She was retired from Reeds Manufacturing where she worked for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and working in her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother for her family. She was a member of Belden United Methodist Church.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Maxcy Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, James V. "Jim" Davis of Belden; one daughter, Kathryn Ann Lovette and husband, Jimmy, of Wesson; one son, James Floyd "Bo" Davis and wife, Jean, of Blue Springs; one adopted brother, Floyd Todd and wife, Mary, of Ecru; three grandchildren, Renee Dulaney and husband, Wayne, of Saltillo, Keith Davis and wife, Lisa, of Belden, and Michelle Lovette Kelly and husband, Jonathan, of Wesson; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Dulaney, Sloan Dulaney, James Race Davis, Hallie Jane Davis, Hillary Shaw, Hamp Shaw, and Jacob Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, James Michael Davis, seven brothers, Claude, Shelby, Thomas, Robert, Morrice, Buddy, and Guy Maxcy; and her sister, Christine Maxcy.

Pallbearers will be Terry Maxcy, Jonathan Kelly, Carl McKissack, Alvin Vinson, Wayne Hughes, Jerry Maxcy, Robert Davis, and Don Scott.

Visitation will be 4 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
