MARY D. MAY
Tupelo - Mary Dale May, 88, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Somerby Retirement Community in Birmingham after an extended illness. A Caledonia native and long time Tupelo resident, she was born March 20, 1918 to the late James Albert and Ollie Mae Wilson Dale. She began her long career in real estate in the 1950s, working in Columbus, Grenada, Oxford and Tupelo where she retired from the Quinn Blake Agency. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, E.C. "Bull Dog May, and many friends. She also enjoyed her shopping trips to Memphis. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Mike May of Tupelo and Jim May and wife, Bobbi, of Birmingham; two grandsons, Walker and Turner May of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, E.C. May; two sisters, Selma Hubbard, Grace Lollar; one brother, Albert Dale.
Pallbearers will be Walker May, Turner May, Sterling Harrell, Hal Green, Charlie Dale, and John Dale.
