SALTILLO- Christine Lansdell Betts, 66, died peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Lee County, she was born November 2, 1942 to the late M.H. and Clara Mae Williams Lansdell. She was a graduate of Tupelo High School, and attended Itawamba Community College, LPN school. She was retired form Cedar Grove Christian Academy, where she taught for over 16 years. She was a faithful member of Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church. She was actively involved in Sunday school where she taught for over 30 years. She helped in the ACTS class and jail ministry. Her passion was teaching children, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was always willing to help others in anyway she could. She will truly be missed.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Danny Robbins and Rev. R. P. Kloepper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 48 years, Charlie Betts of Saltillo; two sons, Charles Ray Betts (Cindy) of Corinth, Glenn Betts (Michelle) of Saltillo; four brothers Herman Lansdell (Debbie), Sidney Lansdell (Joan) of Tupelo, Sammy Lansdell (Alma) of Saltillo, and Billy Lansdell (Rhonda) of Baldwyn; five grandchildren, Jed, Jeb, and Josiah Betts of Corinth, Daniel Betts of Saltillo, and Steven Fennell of Mooreville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cecil Lansdell; one sister, Margaret Purvis.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Mike Lansdell, Kevin Lansdell, Phil Lansdell, Chris Lansdell, and Clay Lansdell

Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons and Ushers of Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church.

Visitation was held 5 " 9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church.
