Tupelo - Marvin M. Arkansas Robbins, 81, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at his residence in the Mt. Vernon Community. He was born December 11, 1927 in Pontotoc County to Benjamin H. and Jenny Benjamine Robbins. He was joint owner of Mt. Vernon Foam Sales Inc. and a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He loved gardening, farming and growing flowers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of three years, Jessie Robbins of the Mt. Vernon Community; six children, Merle Ferguson and wife,Mary of Pontotoc, Rev. Bobby Robbins and wife, Ann, of Guntown, Billy Joe "B.J. Robbins and wife, Barbara, of Baldwyn, Dale Robbins and wife, Mitzie of Blue Springs, Terry Robbins and wife, Karen, of Guntown and Randle Robbins and wife, Kelly, of Henderson, Tennessee; two step-sons, Lewis Holloway and wife, Bridget, of Pope, Miss and Barry Sullivan of Plantersville; one sister, Alice Saxton and husband, Travis of Eldarado, Arkansas; three brothers, James Robbins and wife, Camill, of Pontotoc, Robert Westmoreland and wife, Johnie Fay, of Vardarman and Novial Hollis and wife, Cheryl, of Tocopola, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife on February 01, 1999, Clara Mae Malone Robbins and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Tim Ferguson, Joey Robbins, Terry Wayne Robbins, Josh Robbins, Brian Martin, Shane Robbins, Jessie Walton, Phillip Jimenez and Bobby W. Robbins.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ben Simons, Nelson Addison and the Deacons of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 4 - 9 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at the funeral home and will continue Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 9:00 " 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at Mt. Vernon Church one hour prior to service.

Memorials may be made to Women's Sunday School Class of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
