Martini McCullar

January 27, 1919 — January 2, 2009

Tupelo - Martini McCullar, died Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Simerson Green House At Traceway after an extended illness. An Atalla County native, she was born January 27, 1919 to Sam and Myrt Burrell Cain. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. She served as superintendent of Sunday School, taught Sunday School and worked with the GAs. She was a life member of the Junior Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge. She never met a stranger and was constantly doing for others.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Eldridge officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Jacque Landon and husband, Tom, of Marietta, Georgia and Nancy Gail Tollison and husband, Tom, of Greenwood; two grandsons, Lee Lemmons of Saltillo and Thomas Tollison of Greenwood; one granddaughter, Michelle Riley and husband, Jordan, of Tupelo; one great granddaughter, Taylor Riley of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McCullar.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lee Lemmons, Jordan Riley, Tom Tollison, Thomas Tollison, Thanasis Nicolau, David Sparks and Dr. Lee Greer.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the funeral home.
