Saltillo - Martin Bryan Covington, Jr., 81, died peacefully Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Mathis, Tex., he was born January 15, 1929, to Martin Bryan and Francis Elizabeth Covington. He was a mechanical engineer for the Bendix Corporation. A very devoted husband and father, he was known for his honesty and Christian example to others. He enjoyed running, working outside and in his peach orchard. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.
The family will have a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Covenant Life Presbyterian Church on Third St. in Saltillo. Burial will be at a later date in Monkton, MD.W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Martin Covington, III (Barbara) of Beckleysville, MD, Charles Covington (Julie) of Saltillo, and Thomas Covington (Vicki) of Lancaster, PA; one sister, Dede Wyatt (Joe) of Abilene, TX.; one brother, William Covington (Peggy) of Ft. Worth, TX and 14 grandchildren.
