Martha Faye Poindexter

MARTHA FAYE POINDEXTER Saltillo - Martha Faye Poindexter, 78, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Paden, MS on June 15, 1935 to Guy and Bertha Gilbert. She never learned to read music but was an amazing pianist. She also loved poetry and wrote many poems. She was a homemaker and her job was taking care of her family. The matriarch of the family, she loved her family especially her grandchildren. The family in turn loved and adored her, doted on her and spoiled her. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bryan Gillespie officiating. A graveside will follow at Saltillo Cemetery. Survivors include three children, Laura Lard of Saltillo, Jim Poindexter (Debra) of Frisco, Texas and Kathy Page of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Angela Tharp (Charlie) of Saltillo, Cody Lard (Amy Nunley) of Iuka, Kylie Poindexter (Anthony Perry) of Frisco, Texas, Bailey Poindexter of Frisco, Texas, and Jennifer Page (Luke Miller) of Guntown; two great-grandchildren, Zoie and Chaz Tharp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Poindexter; her parents; sister, Diane Massey; brother, Guy Gilbert and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Pallbearers will be Cody Lard, Charlie Tharp, Chris Duncan, Brad Patterson, Greg Patterson and Jared Frazier. Visitation will be 1 - 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
