Elaine Magers Mantachie - Mrs. Magers, wife of the late Dulon Magers, died Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was the last of seven children born to the late Rev. Sylvester and Annie Chilcoat Barber. Mrs. Magers was a retired supervisor from Mantachie Manufacturing Company. For many years, she and her husband served nursing homes by singing and sharing Bible lessons. Having been saved in 1939, Mrs. Magers loved serving her Lord and Savior. She sang in the choir and taught young people and ladies in Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Mantachie. Funeral services for Elaine Magers of Mantachie will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Mantachie with Dr. John Adams officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by nieces and nephews, special friends Joe and Betty Barnes, and a host of other friends. Pallbearers will be her nephews Joe Barber, Tracy Brown, Jordan Hunt, Michael Hunt, Thomas Magers, Woody Magers, Billy Shouse, and Jim Whitt. Honorary attendants will be members of her Sunday school class. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 and 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the church.
