Martha Lofton

Saltillo - MARTHA JANE LOFTON, 57, died Monday, February 11, 2008, at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. A Tupelo native and lifelong resident, she was born December 26, 1950 to the late Cecil Wesley and Marjorie Smith Lofton. She was a graduate of Mantachie High School. She was worked for Lane Industries for over 30 years and then as an associate for Wal-Mart on North Gloster for the past seven years. During the last few years of her life she thoroughly enjoyed her job at Wal-Mart and loved her friends and fellow employees as a second family.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Birmingham Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include her brother, Earl Lofton; a niece, Shelia Lyons; a nephew, James Albert Copeland (Adrianna), all of Saltillo; many cousins including Judy Edwards and Cynthia Winter, both of Tupelo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Wanda Jean Lofton and Joanne Lofton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the North Gloster Wal-Mart Associates and her co-workers at Lane Industries.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
