Martha George Hall

MARTHA GEORGE HALL Tuscaloosa, Alabama - Martha George Hall, 87, joined family and friends in heaven with Jesus Wednesday morning, May 28, 2014. Martha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, gardening, and most of all being with her family. Her greatest contribution and heavenly gift was helping and ministering to others. She was a member of Saltillo United Methodist Church in Mississippi and later attended Taylorville United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a former employee of Reed's Department Store and Blue Bell, Inc. in Tupelo, MS and Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Barton (Wendell), two granddaughters Camille Gibson (Scott), Carrie Williams (Lee) and four great grandchildren, Savannah and Saylor Gibson, and Carpenter and Emerson Williams of Alabama; a niece, Rita Griffin (Ray) who was like a daughter to her, and Rita's children, Judi Gilder, Patti Jackson, and Peggi Parker, who were like Martha's grandchildren, and Rita's four grandchildren and one great grandchild; two step-daughters, Cindy Hardy (Ricky) and Pat Beard and their children, Kimberly Holley, Chris Hardy, Daniel Hardy, Stephanie Hardy and Katy McCully, and their three grandchildren; two sisters Pete Tillman (Dooley) and Mary Lois Jackson (Cliff) and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Irma McElheney, a brother Luther McElheney, all of Georgia, and two husbands, James F. George and James E. Hall, both of Saltillo, MS. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Salitllo Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Brother Tim Green officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Tillman, Mike Jackson, Bubba Jackson, Chris Hardy, Daniel Hardy, Gerald George, and Laine Mason. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo. A special thank you to Dr. Lata R. Patil, Bibb Medical Center, and Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home.
