Martha A. Blake

April 25, 1954 — September 10, 2009

Tupelo - Martha A. Blake, 55, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Fulton native, she was born April 25, 1954 to Willie Marshall Rhyne and Mable Jean Tackett Rhyne. She attended Itawamba Junior College. She worked during her career at the Tupelo Manor Nursing Home where she received her Certified Nurses Aide Degree and the North Mississippi Medical Center before her illness forced her to retire. She was a member of Priceville Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, loved her puppy, Buddy and her family.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Priceville Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tutor and Rev. Ricky Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Gary Blake of Tupelo; four daughters, Linda Coker (Rusty) of Louisanna, Melissa Holt (Tim) of Caledonia; Lorianna Blake of Tupelo, April Padgett (Greg) of Saltillo; one son, Stephen Blake of the Evergreen Community; three sisters, Frankie Hester (Rickey) of the Evergreen Community, Debbie Camp (Bennie)of Lake Piomingo, Judy Harmon (John) of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Anna Grace, Jodi Ryan, Matthew, Thomas and Dakota; In-laws, Ellis and Marzell Blake of Saltillo; two brothers-in-law, Larry Blake (Amy) of Blue Springs and Andy Blake (Lisa) of Gardendale, AL; three speical nieces, Katie, Sissy and Nickie; one special great-niece, Jayci; special friend, Erma Newell.

She was preceded in death by one son, Willie O'Neal Spencer; one grandchild, Anthony "Blake" Dunn; her parents, one sister, Nancy Elrod; one brother, Harvey Rhyne.

Pallbearers will be Scott Simmons, Matt Ellis, Tony Orozco, Jim Lusby, Johnny Keith and Kip Brewer.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Paul White, present and past employees of Comcast Cable and the staff of The North Mississippi Center.

Visitation will be 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Priceville Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Priceville Baptist Church 713 North Feemster Lake Rd. Tupelo, Miss 38804.
