Aberdeen - MARSHALL DAVID BASKINS, 56, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen after a lengthy illness. A Florence, Alabama native, he was born April 12, 1951 to the late Marshall Even and Lucillie Randall Baskins. He worked as a brick mason. He loved country music and enjoyed playing his guitar.
A stateroom service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Warren Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Daniel Baskins and his wife, Hollie, of Collinwood, Tennessee; one daughter, Melinda Baskins-Tincknell and her husband, Keith, of Peachtree, Georgia; four sisters, Pat Woods of Rogersville, Alabama, Renee Nichelos of Bluesprings, Fay Daniels and her husband, Warren, of Saltillo, and Charlotte Steffens and her husband, Gerry, of Saltillo; one brother, Charles Baskins and his wife, Tammy of Florence, Alabama; four grandchilren, Aidan, Christian, Cayla, and Lexi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Rhodes; and one brother, Eugene Baskins.
Pallbearers will be Brad Baskins, Gerry Steffens, David Baskins, Wayne Woods, Billy Carter, Jerry Powell, Richard Baskins, and James Nichols.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
