MARLIN "BOOTY FREDERICK

Shannon - Marlin "Booty Frederick, 67, died Thursday, February 23, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A Lee County native, he was born June 13, 1938 to the late Clint and Effie Rebecca Snipes Frederick. He was a 1957 graduate of Shannon High School where he played and lettered in football, baseball, and basketball. He was the owner of Spradling Brothers Supply for many years. He was a member of Pontocola Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. An avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, he was also an outdoorsman who raised cattle and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wayne Frederick and Rev. Mark Cayson officiating. Burial will be in the Palmetto Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Callie Ruth Goggins Frederick of Shannon; three daughters, Ava McMullen of Shannon, Cindy Cox and husband, Barry, of Fulton, Tonya Scott and husband, Jeff, of Shannon; eight grandchildren, Ashley Williams and husband, Richard of Shannon, Kayla Kelly of Shannon, John Cox and wife, Mandy, of Mobile, AL., Emily Cox of Raleigh, NC, Drew Bruff and B.J. Cox, both of Fulton, Callie Scott and Cari Scott, both of Shannon; two great-grandchildren, Nealy Williams and Colby Stidham, both of Shannon; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Frederick of Tupelo and Anna Sue McVay and husband, Bobby, of Shannon; and one brother -in-law, Marlin Goggins and wife, Earline.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alton and Rayburn Frederick.

Pallbearers will be John Cox, Richard Williams, Drew Bruff, B.J. Cox, Gary McVay, and Ken McVay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Homan and Chuck Pound.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2006.
