REV. MARK MORGAN, JR. Saltillo - Rev. Mark Alan Morgan, Jr., 32, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, on January 4, 1981, to Rev. Mark and Debra Fields Morgan. He was a member and an Associate Pastor of the Temple of Praise Church in Verona. He especially enjoyed studying religion and was always involved in all aspects of the ministry from maintenance to teaching Bible Studies. Mark had previously worked as a supervisor in the family business, Morgan Painting Company. He currently was a night auditor with the Quality Inn of Tupelo. Mark was a 32nd degree Free Mason and Past Master of Lodge 459 in Drew, Mississippi. He was an avid collector and enjoyed collecting comic books, rare books and movies. A prolific writer, he enjoyed writing and was a member of the Writer's Guild of America. An outgoing man, he never met a stranger and was passionate about helping those in need. He had a deep love for his family and gave of himself to encourage them in all of their pursuits. Mark was a devoted husband who adored his wife and his world revolved around her. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the East Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Shaw, Rev. Tim Williams and Rev. Mike Sumner officiating. Burial will be in Boguefala Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of four years, Joanie Lamb Morgan; his three sisters, Lora Suzanne Gipson, Esquire (Michael), Shannon Morgan and Erin Morgan (Lee Grady), all of Saltillo; one brother, John Morgan (Rachel); three nieces and two nephews, Sarah and Danielle Moore, Ella Morgan and Noah and Elijah Gipson; his maternal grandmother, Freda Fields of El Dorado, Arkansas; his in-laws, Jimmy and Lynette Lamb of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Jenna Moore (Danny) of Oxford and Jamie Watkins (Tanner) of Tupelo; and his mother, Debbie Morgan of Saltillo. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Mark Alan Morgan, Sr. Pallbearers will be Robert Davis, Steven Hamrick, Charlie Price, Daniel Pitts, Keith Snider and Joel Morgan. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
