MARK THOMAS BEATY
Unity Community - Mark Thomas Beaty, 39, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A native of Aurora, IL, he was born June 11, 1966. He was the owner of B & B Construction Company of Guntown. As an athlete himself, he enjoyed watching his son play football. He was a professional weightlifter, having competed in many national events. He won the Junior Weight Lifter Award in 1986. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Mission Outreach Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of New Albany.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wayne Trimm officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Beaty of the Unity Community; one daughter, Leah Beaty, and one son, Thomas Beaty, both of the home; his mother, Letha Blackburn Beaty of Unity;one brother, Hershiel Beaty and wife, Theresa, of Unity; two sisters-in-law, Tracy Long and Belinda Grubbs, both of New Albany; and his mother-in-law, Kay Pratt of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Beaty, his grandparents, and two aunts.
Pallbearers will be Murray Morrow, Howard Morrow, Rick Spencer, Ronnie Beaty, Larry Self, John Morrow, and Chris Morrow.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006.
