MARJORIE E. FEATHERINGILL A memorial service for Marjorie Eloise Featheringill will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Pat Williams officiating. She was born Wednesday, September 13, 1922, in Jay County. She was one of eight children born to Emery and Bertha Robinson. She was the wife of the late Merritt (Bud) Featheringill for 68 years. Bud was in construction and over the years they lived in Indiana, Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California and Mississippi. Marjorie was a housewife, baker and professional cake decorator. She managed a restaurant in Indiana and later with her husband, opened Marge's Bakery and Café in Oracle, Arizona. Her family and friends describe her as a loving and gentle mother, grandma, and great-grandma who never forgot to send a card to each person on their birthday/anniversary. She was "mom" to many who knew and loved her. Marjorie was an active member in Tupelo with the Tupelo Homemakers Club, Lee County Extension Office and the Tupelo Hospital Wellness Center. A committal service for her and her husband will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Surviving are son, Richard Featheringill (June) of Tupelo; daughter, Myrna Rohr of Hemet, California; three granddaughters, Suzanne Johnson (Anthony) of Franklin, Tennessee, Deborah Schneider (Chris) of Adrian, Michigan and Jennifer Rohr Gillett (Matt) of San Mateo, California; seven great-grandchildren, Eric and Nickolas Johnson, Alexis DeLong, Tyler Schneider, Jackson Gillett, Nickolas and Brittney Schneider. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association, National Autism Foundation or Cancer Society.
