MARION DEVAUGHN

Tupelo - MARION DEVAUGHN, 73, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Pontotoc County native, he was born December 17, 1934 to the late Timothy Elliot and Atha Mae Gillentine DeVaughn. He was the owner of Dee's Furniture Manufacturing for the last 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and going to his favorite caf to drink coffee with his buddies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wexford Parmer and Rev. Milton Wright officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 35 years, Diane Rayburn Devaughn of Tupelo; five daughters, Tresa Floyd of Meridian, Cecilia Hill of New Albany, Susan Vandevener (Glen) of Jackson, Debbie Whitt (Ricky) and Kathy Hayman (Brian) all of Mooreville; two sons, Anthony DeVaughn of Meridian and Sammy DeVaughn of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Bobbie Evans of Tupelo; one brother, J.W. "Sonny" DeVaughn (Sybil) of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Ida DeVaughn of the Skyline Community, and Elizabeth DeVaughn of Clyde, North Carolina; 13 grandchidlren, 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Oran and Kelcie E. Devaughn.

Pallbearers will be Mark Foshee, Benton Whitt, Blake Whitt, Brian Patrick, Brantley Whitt, and Ricky Whitt

Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Foshee, Jason LaPratt, Chris LaPratt, and Tony DeVaughn.
