Brewer - Marion Thomas Davis, 81, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native, he was born June 10, 1924 to the late Cartis Captain and Annie Wheeler Davis. A graduate of Tupelo High School, he then went on to Mississippi State University where he graduated with a degree in engineering. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Tombigbee Electric Power Association for 39 years as Operating Superintendant. He was a member of the Mississippi Council for the Blind where he served as treasurer. He was a Master Mason in Tupelo, a member of the Scottish Rites and a Shriner. He was actively involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He will be remembered for the Davis Blackberry Farm where he enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. He was a faithful member of Brewer Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tyson Curbow and Rev. Sean Tutor officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include 2 sons, Danny Davis and wife, Kathy, of Houlka, Roger Davis and wife, Nancy of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Dustin Davis of Houlka, Dave Davis of Tupelo, Melissa Davis of Las Vegas, NV, Will and Emily Davis of Tupelo; one great-grandson, Laiken Wallace of Tishomingo; two sisters, Merlene Kingsley of Brewer and Dee Anthony and husband, Earl, of Greer, SC; one sister-in-law, Barbara Horton of Charleston, SC; one brother-in-law, John Morgan and wife, Gladys, of Plantersville; many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Wilma Morgan Davis.

Pallbearers will be Charles, Jake, Marty, and Gayle Davis, Wayne and Ronnie Morgan, Walt Anthony, Gary Horton, and Carl Jones

Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of Tombigbee Electric Power Association.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the funeral home.
